Bill Fisher creates large-scale abstract paintings rooted in personal experience by employing expressive brush strokes, bold marks, and iconic symbols. He imbeds thick layers of of oil and wax with imagery from his childhood memories alongside structures and textures reminiscent of urban decay. Originally from Buffalo, NY, Bill earned his BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has previously worked as an instructor at VCU. Bill's pieces are featured throughout Quirk Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Quirk Gallery's Archives contains work from Bill's 2016 solo exhibition, Catholic Boy---a collection of new mixed media pieces on paper inspired by Bill's memories from parochial school.
