Opening Reception: Sami Cronk, "How Was Your Day Today?"

Join us on Thursday, December 6 from 5-8 pm for the opening reception of Sami Cronk's solo exhibition, How Was Your Day Today?

This show begins Thursday, December 6 and runs through February 3, 2019 in The Pink Gallery. It will feature brand new prints, paintings, and other delightful treats from an artist near and dear to the Quirk Family.

How Was Your Day Today? is an exploration of materials, colors, and forms. This body of work is meant to express the simple joys of the day-to-day and special moments found in the ordinary.

Some of the themes included in this exhibition are: achieving a small personal goal, not setting expectations too high for yourself, enjoying time with a friend, spending time alone, having a cup of coffee, watering a plant, trying something new, finding personality in everyday objects, playing with shapes, daydreaming, learning about what makes a home, and deciding that something is a good thing.

Sami Cronk is a mixed media artist based in Richmond, VA working primarily in drawing and object making. Her process focuses on the connection between illustration and 3D forms, color palettes, and mark making. Inspiration for her work comes from day-to-day moments, material studies, animals, children’s books, plants, shapes, and nostalgia.
